After trying a free month of Ipsy Glam Bag subscription in January, I really liked it and decided to keep the subscription going for a while. This is one of the cheapest makeup subscriptions out there, and since I am on a makeup overload, but still want to receive some fun mail, I thought this could be a good match. This is my tenth box (I skipped June), and the last one I’ll be receiving for a while.

Ipsy Glam Bag is a beauty subscription box that sends 5 makeup and skincare samples every month, and sometimes full sized products, too. You will also receive a makeup bag every month. The brands included vary a lot, and there are big variations between boxes. You fill a profile, and they try to match you with products that suit you.

The cost: US $10 + $4.95 shipping to Canada (no shipping charge for the US)

Ships to: Canada, US (except Hawaii and Alaska)

Good to know: You can pause the subscription for 1, 2 or 3 months, or adjust the frequency to receive the bag every other month (they bill you $12 USD every two months for this).

I have tested the skipping option in June, and it’s easy to use. Once you skip a month through your profile, you will receive a confirmation email. Also, a few days before billing they email you again to remind you that you’ll be charged for the next month after skipping, and if you want you can skip again at that point. I love how easy it is to use this option!

Everything comes packed in a bright pink padded envelope, and all the makeup always survives shipping from the US to Canada.

There is no real theme for November. The bag comes with a card that has some product suggestions.

This is everything that I received in my November bag. Please note that there are many variations, and you may and probably will receive some or all different products.

November Glam Bag

This month’s bag is a dark blue ‘faux leather’ with black hearts, gold hardware and lined with pink nylon fabric. I like it, especially since it’s shaped a bit differently than previous bags. This would make a nice Valentine’s day bag, though, so I’m surprised they chose this design for November.

Purlisse Perfect Glow BB Cream SPF 30 in Light – Sample 7 ml/ 0.24 oz

I love BB creams, because they’re quick and easy to use, but I rarely get a good color match with subscription boxes. This time around the match is actually really good. I still haven’t had the time to try it, but the finish is great when swatched, and the cream has some good reviews, so I’m looking forward to using it.

Value: $6.13 USD

the Balm Foiled Again Eyeshadow in Cahoots – Sample 1.2g

I love the Balm products, so I was happy to see this eyeshadow in my bag. There was minimum fallout when I was applying it, and it’s easy to apply and blend. It looks a bit taupe-ish in the pan, but it’s definitely a silvery gray on my eyes, and it gives me a wearable instant smokey look that is not too intense for daylight. I wouldn’t call this a foiled eyeshadow, though, it’s just a regular shimmer to me. Overall I like it, but it’s nothing extremely special. As usual, I love the fun packaging!

Value: $4.25

Eddie Funkhouser Cosmetics Twisted Kisses Matte Lip Crayon in Kiss Me Twice – FULL SIZE!

At first I thought I wouldn’t like this lipstick, but it is surprisingly good. It’s very creamy, and there is no dragging when I apply it, and feels very comfortable on my lips. The color is a very light mauve, almost nude for me. l’m not in love with the color, since I’m not hugely in love with nudes, but it’s just wearable for me. I love the feel of it. It’s very matte, transfers a bit, but it’s quite long wearing for a creamy lipstick. It’s my new favorite matte lipstick, and I may explore other colors.

Value: $12.99 USD

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in Kiss Kiss, Darling – FULL SIZE!

I love deep red nail polishes, so I’m kind of happy to see this one in my bag. However, it’s a bit too similar to the one I received the previous month, so I’m not sure why Ipsy did this. Because of the similar color, I still didn’t get around to trying it, but I’m happy to see that it’s 10-free, so I can use it during pregnancy.

Value: $15 USD

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray – Sample 37 ml/ 1oz

I almost started jumping around when I saw I was getting this sample. Oribe is a luxury hair care brand, and I still haven’t had the chance to try it. Surprisingly, I still didn’t try it, since I had to wash my hair more often than usual, so there was no point. It’s next in line to be tried, though, so check my Instagram every now and then for a little review.

Value: $5.4 USD

This was a good bag, although not as good as the previous one I’ve received! That being said, I actually like everything and can use it all. Total value of my bag is $43.77 USD, and the price is $14.95 USD (the bag + shipping to Canada), which is one of the lowest valued Ipsy bags I’ve received. The lipstick and the nail polish are the highest valued products here, so I’m glad I can use them. I just wish that Ipsy didn’t charge shipping to Canada, or at least if they tried to lower it, since it considerably increases the total price of the bag, making it not as cheap as it seems at first.

You can order Ipsy Glam Bag using this link (all the links in this review are referral links and give me a 250 in points that I can redeem for products). This helps me get more products and boxes for reviews, but if you don’t wish to use my referral, you can google the name.

Ipsy does release some spoilers for the next month, but I don’t find them as useful, since there are so many options and variations, so I will not include them here. However, if you subscribe, you can see what you’ll be getting on or before the 5th day of the month by logging into your profile.

Good to know: Ipsy offers an additional quiz for some users, accessible through the profile, and I highly recommend doing it. I started tracking what I like/ don’t like in the Ipsy quiz, and what I actually receive. This month for the first time I haven’t received any products from my likes, but I also didn’t receive any that I marked as don’t like.
