I really love the subscription box system, and one of the boxes I recently subscribed to is the Your Bijoux Box. This was the only box I saw that fits what I wanted. I need a box that sends jewelry that is not too dainty, since I have lots of those, follows trends, and sends quality pieces. Also, they occasionally send Deepa Gurnani pieces, and I really wanted to get a few of those.

They send three pieces of jewelry, but almost always include something as a bonus. If your ears are not pierced, you can request no earrings when you sign up. Also, you can easily skip a month if you do this before billing, and they email you a few days before the billing. Starting with the May 2017 box, you can update your ring size in your profile (sizes 5-8).

The cost: US $36 + $10 shipping to Canada

Ships to: Canada, US

You can use coupon code WELCOME to receive a bonus piece in your first box. You can see what I received in my first box here. You can also use code: JULYSWEET to get $10 off all subscriptions (I am not sure if these two codes are exclusive).

The jewelry always comes in a small branded box.

Everything is well and nicely packed, and the inside of the cover features a quote (the same one every month).

The June theme is Hello Summer!

They included this information card in the box, which contains information about the pieces in the box, as well as some styling suggestions.

These are all the pieces in the June box. They all come in their separate drawstring bags.

Wrap it with a Bow Necklace

There was a spoiler for this necklace, and I was on  the fence about it. I could’ve skipped the box, but since I already skipped the previous one, I really wanted some new sparkles, and I hoped I’d like the rest of the jewelry. Pearls are all over the runways this summer, and I am not surprised to see them in the June box. However, in my case I have quite a few real pearl necklaces, and this one just doesn’t work for me. I love the cute bow details, but the necklace is substantial, and not my style at all. I know some people love it, though, so it all comes down to style and preferences.

IMG_7289

Here’s the close up photo of the bow details. They are cute and sparkly, and add something different to a faux-pearl necklace, making it much more interesting.

IMG_7290

Here’s the necklace on. As you can see, it’s really a statement necklace, double stranded and long, with asymmetrical bows.I may have liked it if it was half the length. Not sure though. It will be pretty for flatlays, though.

Karen Kane Necklace

This dainty necklace features three burgundy stones surrounded by little sparkly pave stones. I like the play on the horizontal bar trend, and I actually prefer this style over a plain gold bar. It’s simple enough to work with many of my outfits. I really tried finding a link for you online, but couldn’t find this necklace anywhere.

Some people received a blue version of this necklace, or a completely different Sunset Field Pendant Necklace ($29 USD).

IMG_7297

Here’s a close up of the pendant. I really like the deep burgundy color. It doesn’t scream summer to me, thought, so I’ll probably wear it more once fall comes.

IMG_7298

Here’s the necklace on the shortest setting. I like where it hits, and how I can adjust the length a little bit depending on the shirt/dress I’m wearing. It’s a delicate necklace, but not so much that it disappears when I’m wearing it.

Evette Summer Watch

I praise Your Bijoux box for mixing things up, and including a watch this time instead of a bracelet. It’s a really summer appropriate, inexpensive watch, that has an ivory faux snake leather band, and white and gold face. I think the light colors can really work with summer outfits well, and I really needed a watch with gold tones, since all of my watches are silver.

IMG_7302

However, like many watches, this one is oversized and looks huge on my tiny wrists. I am glad to have it, though, and I’ll probably reach for it every now and then. Maybe not as often as I would if it was smaller.

IMG_7310

As you can see, I have it on the smallest setting, and this watch will work for much bigger wrists, too.

Rosebud Classic Sunnies

Subscribers received a variety of these sunglasses. These are oversized sunnies, with different colored frames, but as far as I’ve noticed, they all have tortoise shell arms with the same gold rose details. I received these ones, with a transparent frame, and although that would’ve never been my first pick (more like the last pick), it actually made these sunglasses work for me. They came in a cute red and blue soft pouch!

IMG_7316

Here’s a closer look at the rose detail. It’s visible when I wear the sunglasses, since it’s so close to the front.

IMG_7318

Here are the sunglasses on. I think they are just so huge on my small, narrow face. However, since the frame is transparent, it makes them work for me a bit. I decided to keep them in the car as a spare pair, because I often forget to bring sunglasses. I also think these would be great by the pool, since their huge size offers additional protection.

IMG_8053

I simply didn’t love this box. The main piece didn’t work for me. IT would’ve been great if I was in love with the other three pieces, but that’s not the case. I like the Karen Kane necklace, but I’m not in love, and I am just OK with the watch and sunglasses. I know this is a risk with any subscription box, and I just wish I skipped this box once I saw that I didn’t like the spoiler, since that option exists. I’ll be smarter in the future. The next box has to be great for me, or I’ll just have to cancel the subscription – the last few boxes were just OK for me, while the ones before I subscribed looked much better. Again, it all comes down to style.

You can order Your Bijoux box using this link  (all the links in this review are referral links and give you $5 US off, and me a $5 equivalent in points). This helps me get more boxes for reviews, but if you don’t wish to use my referral, you can google the name of the box. You can also use code: JULYSWEET to get $10 off all subscriptions.

I am a bit late with this review, because the box arrived later than usual, and I had other reviews scheduled. The July box is currently being charged and will ship soon. There weren’t any spoilers before I was charged for the July box, so I has faith that I’d like it. One spoiler came out after the charges, and every July box  will contain a double layered necklace with turquoise details. If you wish to see it, you can go to the Your Bijoux Instagram page. I love the spoiler, luckily, so this gives me some hope that the July box will work for me better than this one.

I do believe that shipping to Canada is too expensive for such a small box, and that is the only thing that may make me cancel in the future, since it really adds up with our bad conversion rates. I wasn’t charged any customs duties, and will inform you if it happens with following boxes.

Do you have any questions about this subscription? Do you subscribe to any boxes? How do you like this one?
