The PrettyPout is a US company that creates lip products responsibly, while trying to inspire women to look beyond the physical beauty and turn to their inner beauty and strength. 10% of their net sale The PrettyPout donates to Women for Women International, that helps marginalized women in countries affected by war and conflict. As someone who went through a war herself, as a child, I support what The PrettyPout and Women for Women International are doing.
The PrettyPout is trying to make a positive impact on the lives of women, and I love that side of this company! I am tired of companies advertising the picture of a perfect, symmetrical, dolled-up woman that is just not always attainable. We are all beautiful in our own way, but sometimes it’s hard to believe that while being bombarded with all this false advertising. You can read more about what this company is doing here.
Every The PrettyPout product has a story behind it, and is named after a wonderful and inspiring woman. This particular one is named after a courageous, sweet, intelligent and funny 11-year old, Naya, who unfortunately fought and lost her battle with cancer. You can read her story here – heads up, it may cause some teary eye.
Naya Pink Lip Gloss comes in a sleek packaging with a classic doe foot applicator. I must admit I am not really fond of the applicator, since it’s a bit stiff and applies just a little bit of product at a time. It’s soft and doesn’t hurt my lips, it’s just not my favorite. There is no discernible scent to the gloss, and I really like this.
Ingredients: BHT, Iron Oxide, Petrolatum, Polybutene, Retinol Palmitate, Titanium Dioxide, Tocopherol Acetate, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Ethlyne / Propylene / Styrene Copolymer, Butylene / Ethylene / Styrene Copolymer
It also contains no parabens and it’s cruelty-free.
Here is the swatch of the gloss. The light pink color is beautiful, and it works with my skin tone well.
It applies evenly and it’s more pigmented than I expected for a lip gloss. But the best thing about this lip gloss – IT’S NOT STICKY AT ALL!!! As someone with long hair, I know how lip glosses, hair and wind don’t always work together. Hair gets stuck in the gloss and the wind additionally dries my lips out. Not with this gloss.
In addition to it not being sticky, it’s non-drying. It actually hydrates my lips, how awesome is that!? This shiny gloss has that pretty pink color that is perfect for spring, and I will be wearing it a lot.
For a lip gloss that has great ingredients, it’s not sticky, hydrates, has an inspiring story behind it, and 10% of net sales is donated, I think it is priced well. I just love the formula!
What do you think about this lip gloss, would you be willing to try it? Would you buy a product that supports other women over one that doesn’t?
