I really love the subscription box system, and one of the boxes I recently subscribed to is Your Bijoux Box. This was the only box I saw that fits what I wanted. I need a box that sends jewelry that is not too dainty, since I have lots of those, follows trends, and sends quality pieces. Also, they occasionally send Deepa Gurnani pieces, and I really wanted to get a few of those.
They send three pieces of jewelry, but almost always include something as a bonus. If your ears are not pierced, you can request no earrings when you sign up. Also, you can easily skip a month if you do this before billing, and they email you a few days before the billing.
The cost: US $36 + $10 shipping to Canada
Ships to: Canada, US
You can use coupon code WELCOME to receive a bonus piece in your first box. You can see what I received in my first box here.
March theme is Happy St.Patrick’s Day.
They included this information card in the box, which contains information about the pieces in the box, as well as some styling suggestions.
This piece was a spoiler, and I was so excited to get it. It is a piece of great quality and its retail value is $78 US. This is more than double the box price!
The only issue that some subscribers may have is that the box was announced to be all silver, while the bracelet I received is gold. This actually makes it better for me, since I have plenty of silver-toned jewelry, but if someone subscribed because of the “all silver box” spoiler, I could see how this would be upsetting.
Some subscribers received the Tessellation Cuff instead.
This bracelet is quite small. I have tiny wrists, and you can see how tight it is on me. It is adjustable, but only to a certain point. This will be a perfect summer piece for me.
Emerald Layered Necklace
I don’t have too many green pieces of jewelry, so I was exited to see this necklace. It can be worn three different ways, each necklace separately, or both together. It’s a non-branded necklace, and the pendants have that Art Deco vibe. The chain tends to tangle a bit, but it’s easy to undo.
Here’s a closer look at the pendants. I love the emerald green stones and the clean, structured lines.
Here’s the necklace on the shortest setting. There is an extender with 4 more inches if you like to wear it longer.
These earrings are the perfect match for the necklace, and feature the same design and colors. They are not too heavy, and the clasp feels really secure and easy to operate.
Here’s one of the earrings on to give you a sense of scale.
The whole set really is really match-y, and I think it’s too much for me. I believe I will rather wear one of the necklaces with the earrings, or wear them completely separately, just the earrings or the necklace.
Life of Fashion Scarf
This scarf is a bonus piece, and it came with a Life of Fashion New York tag, but I couldn’t find that company online to link to it. US subscribers received lighter scarves, while they sent warmer ones to Canada. I know it’s colder here, but the spring is still coming, so I wish I have received a lighter version.
This is an infinity scarf, and I don’t tend to go for these types of scarves. In this case it doesn’t really work well, because doubled up it’s quite tight around my neck, and if you don’t double it up it just doesn’t look good. I will find some use for it, but in the fall/winter season, when I will need something closer to my neck to keep me warm.
This is a close up of the design. I love the subtle green ribbed details.
The scarf is made of 100% acrylic, and it’s not itchy. However, what bugs me is this “made in China” tag. I just try to avoid items made there if I can, and always consider them as items of really low quality.
Triangle stud earrings
These tiny studs were not supposed to be in the box and are not listed on the information card. Your Bijoux box arrived late this month, and first I found out that they would include a bonus piece of jewelry, but then they said they would give us 500 points instead (these points can be used as credits towards Your Bijoux purchases). I received my points and this is not a bonus, so I am not sure why did I get them. Of course, I wouldn’t complain about an extra, and this is something I can easily use. Maybe they mistakenly thought this was my first box, and included this as a welcome bonus.
I actually took some time to check, and these studs were one of the pieces in the Your Bijoux March 2015 box.
This is one of them to give you a sense of scale. They are tiny, but sparkly, and I will probably wear them a lot.
This month Your Bijoux Box got me really confused. There was a delay, they said we will get an extra piece, then that we won’t, then they gave us points. I received a gold bracelet in a box that was supposed to be all silver, and those tiny studs that weren’t supposed to be in the box. And they sent a winter scarf in a spring box.
With all those issues, I still love the box, except for the scarf. The green jewelry matches my style, and I will get a lot of use of the bracelet and the studs during the spring /summer.
You can order Your Bijoux box using this link (all the links in this review are referral links and give you $5 US off, and me a $5 equivalent in points). This helps me get more boxes for reviews, but if you don’t wish to use my referral, you can google the name of the box.
March box is sold out, and you can order the April box. They revealed that every April box will contain a Goldenrod Statement Bracelet and Karen Kane Hoop earrings. You can check all the spoiled item photos on the Your Bijoux Instagram page.
I do believe that shipping to Canada is too expensive for such a small box, and that is the only thing that may make me cancel in the future, since it really adds up with our bad conversion rates. I wasn’t charged any customs duties, and will inform you if it happens with following boxes.
