There are many campaign sites out there, where you get items at no cost, get to try and test them, and then you have to do different activities, which include, but are not limited to: reviews, twitter/instagram/facebook/pinterest posts and similar.
BzzAgent is the first such site I’ve joined, and I decided to write about it first, since I am most familiar with how it works.
First step is to join BzzAgent here. (This is a general link, and I am not getting anything if you click on it). This particular site sends campaign items to members in USA, Canada, Brazil and UK. It is free to join.
After you join, fill in your profile, and do all the surveys. Heads up – there are a lot of them, but once you do them all, you will only get them every now and then. Surveys are a crucial part of campaign selection. Connect all your social media accounts, and your blog, if you have one. You don’t have to connect anything you don’t want to (you will be able to do less campaign activities later on, but it won’t matter in the campaign selection process). Also, you can always connect later on (e.g. you might not have a blog, but you start one later).
Now you wait until they match you with a campaign. You will be matched according to your survey answers, and your Bzz score. Your score might seem low at the beginning, but I’ve got my first campaign when my score was about 3-4 (out of 10).
Once you are matched with a campaign, you will get an e-mail. Click on the link and do a short survey. I advise you to do this as soon as you see the e-mail, because if there is a choice of items, they will go on the first come-first served basis. Shortly after this, you will get an “You’re in” e-mail, and the campaign will appear in your BzzAgent account.
Now all you need to do is wait for your kit to arrive. Sometimes that will be in the regular mail, sometimes via courier, depending on what the size is. You can see when your kit is mailed in your account (Menu->Account->Shipments).
When your kit arrives, you can start testing, and if the campaign is live, doing the activities. There is usually a number of activities you can do, but you don’t have to do them all. Quality over quantity. Each activity is reviewed after submission, and usually this increases your Bzz score. Better quality, higher increase. Also, higher Bzz score, more chance of a next campaign – you got it 😉 Also, usually you have lots of time to do the activities, so take your time.
There can be times when you have multiple campaigns, and other times when you have none. Good thing is, you don’t have to do much when you don’t have a campaign – just an occasional survey. BzzAgent has this thing called Bite-Sized Bzz which you can do between campaigns, for fun, but you don’t have to, and it doesn’t affect anything.
BzzAgent offers a variety of items to try, but from what I’ve seen, they are mostly cheaper. Still, it’s fun, and if you like to test things, I would recommend them. You will not get every campaign, even with a high Bzz score, and some campaigns are mutually exclusive (you can’t be testing two moisturizers at the same time, can you). So far, these are the items I received to test:
- Herbal Essences Naked Collection – shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo
- COVERGIRL LashBlast – Full Lash Bloom mascara plus coupons
- CoverGirl Embrace Your Face – Clean Oil Control liquid foundation
- Katy Kat Collection – Katy Kat mascara in black and lipstick in Maroon Meow
- Pantene & Olay Strong + Natural – Pantene Airspray Alcohol Free Hairspray and Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Moisturizer
Are you a BzzAgent? How do you like it? What do you thing is good and bad compared to other similar sites?
